Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival
Please note that students should not be coming to the school before 8:10 AM. We have NO supervision until that time. The school day begins at 8:25 AM.
Dismissal
Dismissal is at 3:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for students in 1st through 6th grades.
WEDNESDAY IS EARLY RELEASE DAY - ALL STUDENTS K-5 ARE DISMISSED AT 12:30 PM.
Traffic Safety
I am expecting your complete cooperation in keeping our children safe by adhering to all traffic postings and these additional safety rules: DO NOT PARK OR LEAVE YOUR CAR UNATTENDED IN THE RED ZONES ON DANIELS AVE, this is a bus pick-up and drop-off zone. Your car will be towed away. Rodgers ST is a ONE-WAY street; please adhere to this traffic rule.
Classroom Supply Suggestions
We appreciate any classroom supplies that you provide for your child’s classroom teacher! If you can find it in your budget, and heart, I know your child’s classroom teacher would appreciate donations of some or all of the following:
- 2 boxes of Kleenex
- A ream of copy paper
- 4 glue sticks
- College Ruled Lined paper
- A large bottle of Hand Sanitizer
- A box of #2 pencils
- A box of dry erase markers
- A Box Band Aids
We gratefully accept any donations that you wish to make to your child’s classroom teacher.
Emergency Cards
WE NEED EMERGENCY CARDS RETURNED. For your child’s own safety please make sure you return your emergency card with updated phone numbers. Also, if your phone number changes throughout the year do not hesitate and call us so that we can update our records and reach you in case of an emergency.
School Meals
California has implemented the Universal Meals Program, which means that meals will be FREE for students. For VCUSD students, meal applications are no longer required. Your student(s) will be able to receive a breakfast and a lunch for free during each school day.
